Yes, India has a growing and increasingly formalised framework of surfing certifications, both for recreational surfers who want to document their skill development and for those aspiring to become professional surf instructors.  At the national level, the Surfing Federation of India (SFI) is the governing body for competitive surfing in the country. The SFI is affiliated with the International Surfing Association (ISA), which is the world governing body for surfing and a member of the International Olympic Committee.
